Installer FAQ

To become an approved GivEnergy installer, you must:
  • Complete our product training course(s)
  • Submit your relevant electrical certifications/qualifications to GivEnergy. For example: MCS, HIES, MCS 3002, NEC EIC or equivalent.
  • Supply us with your company details: website, contact number, service radius, etc. You must have a valid trade website to ensure authenticity.
  • Have a trade account with one of our distributors. You can find a list of our distributors at: https://givenergy.co.uk/find-a-distributor/
With all these criteria met, you can then become an approved installer – qualified to fit GivEnergy products to end customers in your service area. Please note: you must also keep your training up-to-date with annual refresher courses, plus modules for any new products not covered in your  initial training.
To become an advanced GivEnergy installer, you must have completed the same steps as an approved installer. However, as extra measures, you must also:
  • Display the GivEnergy logo on your website and in your company email footers
  • Have completed a minimum of 10 fully commissioned GivEnergy installations, each with positive feedback from the end customer
  • As before, you must also keep your general product training up-to-date (annually refreshed every 12 months, plus any add-on modules for new products)
To become a platinum installer, you must already have ‘advanced installer’ status in place. However, to progress that status to the top-tier ‘platinum’ level, you should also:
  • Have completed a minimum of 25 fully commissioned GivEnergy installations, each with positive feedback from the end customer
  • Have a review account (TrustPilot or Checkatrade) linked to your organisation with a positive rating, and a minimum of 15 reviews
  • As with each installer tier, your product training should be up-to-date (annually refreshed every 12 months, and inclusive of new products)

We ask that installers keep their knowledge up to date, and complete installations to the professional standard expected. So:

  • Re-application will be required if no installations are completed within 1 year
  • Refresher training courses must be completed annually
  • Any additional training modules for new products (i.e., technology not previously covered in your training) must be completed unless otherwise stated
  • All installers are subject to regular review, and we reserve the right to revoke status based on your activity (such as the receipt of complaints, infrequent installations, or a marked downturn in TrustPilot reviews, for instance)
